Broncos currently tied for most wins in NFL, best record in the AFC

The Denver Broncos are on a tear.

Winners of six games in a row, the Broncos are one of the two hottest teams in the NFL, along with the Patriots.

New England has also won six straight games, and both teams boast 7-2 records to have them tied atop the AFC along with Indianapolis. Current tiebreakers have the Colts as the No. 1 seed, the Patriots as the No. 2 seed and the Broncos as the No. 3 seed. Denver leads the AFC West over the Chargers (6-3) and Chiefs (5-4).

And there’s no dominant team in the league this year, as the Broncos seven wins are also tied for the most with Indy and New England. In the NFC, the Eagles, Buccaneers, Seahawks and Rams are each 6-2. No one in that conference has reached seven wins, although bye weeks due play a factor.

Denver can become the first squad to get to eight victories, with Thursday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders looming in only a couple of days.

Other results to watch in Week 10 will be the Colts hosting the Falcons (go Atlanta), the Patriots visiting the Buccaneers (go Tampa Bay) and the Chargers welcoming in the Steelers on Sunday Night Football (go Steelers).

Kansas City has its bye, which is significant since the Chiefs will be waiting to visit Empower Field at Mile High on Nov. 16. If the Broncos can beat the Raiders, that game could be for some real separation over K.C. in the division. In a perfect world, Denver would have a chance to move to 9-2 while dropping the Chiefs to 5-5.

That wouldn’t end Kansas City’s streak of nine straight AFC West titles officially, but it would put a massive dent in their chances. The biggest things is the Broncos need to handle Vegas on a short week.

Denver has a great shot to host its first playoff game since the 2015 season, the year in which the franchise won Super Bowl 50.
