Denver Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw will miss this Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Greenlaw was controversially suspended for chasing referee Brad Allen after the Broncos stunned the New York Giants, as well as allegedly “verbally threatening” the official.

Greenlaw’s suspension was upheld by the NFL and he won’t be on the field this weekend.

However, another punishment for a Denver linebacker could also be coming. According to Mike Florio, Justin Strnad “likely will be fined” for the postgame celebration against the Giants. The Broncos rallied to an improbable 33-32 victory after Wil Lutz’s walk-off field goal at the buzzer.

In the chaos that followed, it appeared like Allen leaned his shoulder into Strnad. It’s just speculation, but perhaps that could be the reason Greenlaw went after the referee.

However, Florio (and apparently the NFL) sees it differently.

“Unlike Greenlaw, Broncos linebacker Justin Strnad made contact with Allen,” Florio wrote.

That’s all about how one interprets the video, because many in Broncos Country think it was Allen that initiated the bump between the two.

Regardless, the league is always going to protect its officials, and it might hurt Strnad’s wallet. Fines are usually dished out on Saturdays, so stayed tuned to see if this comes to fruition.
