Broncos-Jets inactives: Jewell, Okweugbunam sitting out again

DENVER — A day after ruling QB Russell Wilson out, the Broncos also deactivated ILB Josey Jewell and TE Albert Okwuegbunam for Sunday’s game against the Jets.
Jewell was questionable with the knee injury he suffered against the Colts Oct. 6. He saw limited practice throughout the week. Alex Singleton, who had 19 solo tackles last Monday, will start in his place.
Okweugbunam is a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game. Greg Dulcich effectively supplanted the third-year tight end in the lineup after returning from a hamstring injury last week.
Also inactive are:
- CB Essang Bassey
- S Caden Sterns
- WR Jalen Virgil
The Broncos ruled Bassey out on Friday because of a hamstring injury he suffered against the Chargers last Monday.
Sterns will miss a second consecutive game after a setback in his recovery from a hip issue that has dogged him for a month.
Virgil has been inactive all season.
Three players listed as questionable will play: DL D.J. Jones (ankle), RG Quinn Meinerz (foot) and DL DeShawn Williams (back). Jones and Meinerz are expected to start.
