What the Broncos could’ve had if they kept the NFL Draft’s No. 9 pick

With the No. 9 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos could’ve had any quarterback they wanted; instead they flipped that pick as part of the trade to acquire Russell Wilson.
Wilson solves the quarterback question that has existed since Peyton Manning retired. In what is a weaker quarterback class, not a single signal-caller was picked in the first ten. The Seahawks went with offensive tackle Charles Cross from Mississippi State at No. 9. Cross was arguably the best offensive lineman and pass blocker left on the board.
Cross would’ve helped a need at right tackle but one could make the case that the Broncos also need reinforcements on the defensive line, at inside linebacker and cornerback. There were still some intriguing prospects at these positions had the Broncos kept their pick and didn’t choose a quarterback.
Defensive linemen Jordan Davis from Georgia and Jermaine Johnson II from Flordia could’ve been who the Broncos selected. Trent McDuffie, a cornerback from Washington, is also a good guess of what the Broncos could’ve had.

Seattle will likely go with former Bronco Drew Lock or NFL journeyman Geno Smith at quarterback as they try to replace Wilson. Or they may select a quarterback later in the draft to compete with those two.
The Broncos will be without next year’s first-round pick as well, which went to Seattle with Lock, Noah Fant and Shelby Harris.
