Clayton: The Broncos have a tough road after their bye week

Nov 17, 2021, 4:32 PM

The Broncos don’t have it easy down the stretch.

After the bye week, the Broncos have five division games in what is one of the best divisions in football. Three of the division games are on the road. They have the Chiefs and Chargers at home.

At 5-5, the Broncos are sitting at the bottom of the division. They do have an easy non-division game against the Lions. They have a potential tough one against the Bengals. Overall, they finish the season with four of their seven games at home.

The Broncos have the third-hardest closing schedule in the AFC West. Kansas City has the toughest. They have a .577 closing schedule. The Raiders have a .526 closing schedule. The Broncos have the 16th toughest schedule at .500. The Chargers are at .474.

The Broncos need to get healthier along the offensive. That’s why it’s important that tackles Garett Bolles and Bobby Massie use the bye week to get healthy.

This won’t be easy trying to make the playoffs, but the five division games give them a chance.
