The Broncos have found their quarterback competition after trading for Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, accord to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Broncos are giving up a sixth-round pick for the quarterback.

Bridgewater spent just one season with the Panthers after signing a three-year, $63 million deal last offseason.

According to reports, Carolina will pay a portion of Bridgewater’s 2021 compensation as part of a restructured contract to finalize the deal to Denver.

Bridgewater had $10 million guarantee on $17.95 million payout this year.

NFL Network’s James Palmer has reported Bridgewater is coming to Denver to compete for the starting job against Drew Lock.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Panthers paying Bridgewater $7 million and the Broncos are paying him $3 million. The trade does not take Denver out of the quarterback market Thursday night.
