DeMarcus Ware reflects on likely Hall of Fame enshrinement

Ever since DeMarcus Ware entered the league with the Dallas Cowboys in 2005, the ferocious pass rusher sought to cement his legacy among the best in NFL history.
Now, with his first appearance on the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot coming up next year, Ware has that gold jacket in his sight.
“I remember when I first came in, I said I wanted to etch my name in stone in the NFL as being one of the best players to play my position,” Ware told “Nick & Cecil” on Thursday night.
Almost assuredly a first-ballot Hall of Famer, Ware said knowing his gold jacket moment could come relatively soon is a “holy cow” type of feeling.
“You put that resume in, you know exactly what you’re doing and what you did, and you’re going to be enshrined in the fraternity that lasts forever,” Ware said. “And I’m really looking forward to it.”
“It’s just an amazing thing that you think, after starting from like scratch and going from there.”
Should Ware receive the knock next season, it’ll likely be on the heels of fellow Denver Broncos teammate and Super Bowl 50 champion Peyton Manning’s enshrinement later this summer.
Per a report earlier this week, Manning was reportedly told he made the cut in his first time on the ballet, which will be officially announced Saturday during the NFL Honors.
On Wednesday, Ware and Manning’s former teammate Champ Bailey, himself a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, told “Nick & Cecil” he believes it’s overdue for ex-Broncos safety John Lynch to don the gold jacket as well.
“We all know, nobody is a finalist this much without getting in,” Bailey said of Lynch, who has been a finalist for the Hall eight times. “We know it’s overdue.”
