Broncos Injury Report: A big loss in the win over the Titans

Oct 14, 2019, 7:01 AM

During training camp, it was painfully obvious to everyone watching practice. The Broncos are a much better offense when Emmanuel Sanders is on the field.

With the veteran wideout, Denver has some explosiveness. Not just from No. 10, but also because he opens up the field for other playmakers, like Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant and the team’s ground game.

Without Sanders, the Broncos are pretty anemic. At times, they grind to a halt when forced to rely solely on talented, but young players.

During the season, that equation has largely remained intact. Denver is much better on offense when Sanders is on the field.

That’s why it should be a cause for concern that the wide receiver missed the second half of the Broncos win over the Titans due to a knee injury.

“I don’t know any details on it,” Vic Fangio said after the game. “All I was told is he hurt his knee a little bit and he wouldn’t be returning. That’s all I’ve got. I haven’t talked to the trainers since the end of the game.”

So far this season, Sanders has hauled in 25 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. If he’s unable to go against the Chiefs on Thursday night and beyond, it’ll leave a gaping hole in the Broncos offense.
