Broncos Injury Report: A scary moment in win over the Chargers
Oct 7, 2019, 7:23 AM
The Broncos didn’t emerge from their win over the Chargers unscathed on the injury front, as players like linebacker Justin Hollins excited the game with a knee problem. But all of those bumps and bruises paled in comparison to what looked like a very significant injury when it happened.
On a running play to the right side, cornerback De’Vante Bausby stepped up to make a tackle on Chargers running back Austin Ekeler. His teammate, linebacker A.J. Johnson, was coming from the middle of the field, also hoping to make a play. The two ran into each other, with Bausby head taking the brunt of the collision.

The cornerback was motionless on the field for a few minutes, ultimately getting taken off on a stretcher and a cart. He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, while everyone in Broncos Country held their collective breath.
Before the game was over, positive news started to emerge.
Broncos CB De’Vante Bausby is out for the remainder of today’s game after suffering a neck injury. De'Vante has movement in all extremities, and he is being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

And by the time the team was ready to fly home and celebrate their victory, they had another reason to be feeling good about things.
Broncos announce that De'Vante Bausby was released from the hospital and will fly back to Colorado with the rest of the team.
Bausby suffered a neck injury early in the second quarter against the Chargers.
