Would Brissett be a more viable option for Broncos over Mannion?

Among the names floated this offseason as to who the Denver Broncos should pursue at quarterback lies Los Angeles Rams signal-caller Sean Mannion, touted most recently by not only “The Drive” co-host Alfred “Big Al” Williams but also Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson.
But instead of chasing a quarterback with ties to NFL whiz kid Sean McVay, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard offered up a passer with connections to the coach who just beat him in Super Bowl LIII: Bill Belichick.
“Everybody is all enamored by Sean McVay. But what about guys that are targeted by Belichick?” Pritchard said. “They have some intangibles there because we know what the intangibles are that Belichick looks for. The commitment, the dedication, and the discipline.
“What if Jacoby Brissett has all that in addition to the big arm, in addition to (being able to) run with the football?”
Brissett spent his rookie season in 2016 with the New England Patriots, learning behind Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo.
And with Brady suspended four games to start the season and Garoppolo down with an injury suffered in Week 2, Brissett started two games for the team, going 1-1.
New England traded Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts just before the start of the 2017 season, where he started 15 games in relief of the injured Andrew Luck.
Brissett went 4-11 that season, throwing for 3,098 yards, 13 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 81.7.
And while Brissett didn’t put up staggering statistics, Pritchard said he knows what the quarterback has in terms of intangibles, as compared to Mannion, who all he knows is that he has a big arm.
“I would investigate. I would really take a team of people and evaluate Jacoby Brissett to find out if that guy has what it takes to turn into a franchise quarterback, to improve well enough with the intangibles as well as the physical skillset, to become a franchise quarterback,” Pritchard said.
