UPDATE: The Denver Broncos have claimed former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Holmes off of waivers following the season-ending Achilles injury to Emmanuel Sanders on Wednesday, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
In 12 games for Buffalo this season, Holmes had 12 receptions on 23 targets for 157 yards.
Holmes played for Broncos offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave when the two were with the Oakland Raiders in 2015 and 2016.
The Denver Broncos will likely be without Emmanuel Sanders for the remainder of the 2018 season after the wide receiver reportedly tore his left Achilles tendon in practice on Wednesday.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter told “Stokley and Zach” that the initial belief from the team is Sanders tore his Achilles and will be out for the season, though the wideout will undergo further testing.
Sanders was making a cut on a short passing route when he went down, reports Denver 7 Insider Troy Renck.
The two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver missed four games last season after suffering a right ankle injury.
Through 12 games this season, Sanders has 71 receptions on 98 targets for 868 yards and four touchdowns.
Head coach Vance Joseph is scheduled to speak shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday following practice, which will be carried live by 104.3 The Fan.
