Pritchard: Broncos must pull out of ‘tailspin’ or spiral out of control

Oct 18, 2018, 12:25 PM

The secret to making everyone happy is when expectations and results meet, says Mike Pritchard. But right now for the Denver Broncos, expectations and results are “out of whack.”

“When expectations and results meet, everybody’s happy. But when they’re out of whack, that’s when you have this situation,” the “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host said on Thursday.

If the Broncos lose perhaps the most important game of the season Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals, it could be the tipping point for a shakeup says Pritchard.

“There’s a lot of work to do outside of just getting rid of the head coach. But I think if you lose on national TV, and you look at the situation that our results are never going to catch expectations with this direction, then we’ll see a change,” Pritchard said.

But even if they win, Pritchard said, there’s still a lot to be fixed with the Broncos organization before its current “tailspin” turns into a “spiral out of control” situation.

“Have they fixed everything if they win? No. They’ll feel better about themselves, but they’re still going to have a losing record. And you need to fix this,” Pritchard said. “Like I said, this is at a point, this direction of this franchise is at a point, that you better fix it. Because a tailspin is one thing. You can pull out of a tailspin. But if you spiral out of control, there’s no controlling that. You’re going to stay in that. Just like the Cleveland Browns.”
