Broncos open up 2018 slate at home vs. Seahawks, bye in Week 10

Apr 19, 2018, 6:39 PM | Updated: Apr 20, 2018, 8:49 am

We knew who the Denver Broncos would play and where, but with the NFL schedule release on Thursday we know the when.

The Broncos will kick off its 2018 campaign against the Seattle Seahawks at home, the eighth consecutive year the club will open its season in Denver — the longest current streak in the NFL.

AFC West play will open up the following Sunday at home against the Oakland Raiders in Week 2 before heading to Baltimore for the first road trip of the year in Week 3.

In terms of prime time games, the Broncos play in Week 4 at home on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football on the road against the Arizona Cardinals, and again on the road against the Raiders in the Week 16 Monday Night Football finale.

Denver’s bye will be in Week 10.

Other highlights include:

» The Broncos return to MetLife Stadium in Week 5 vs. the New York Jets — the first time the team will have played in the stadium since its Super Bowl XLVIII loss.

» Aqib Talib, Wade Phillips, and the Los Angeles Rams return to Denver for the first time in Week 6 on Oct. 14.

» Denver will host the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 on Saturday, Dec. 15, which marks just the 35th time in NFL history a game will have been played on that day of the week.

» The Broncos open up preseason play at home for just the second time in 22 seasons against Case Keenum’s former club, the Minnesota Vikings.

» In Week 2 of the preseason, Denver will host joint practices with the Chicago Bears leading up to the two teams’ tilt on Aug. 18.

» The Broncos play the Cardinals in Arizona in Week 4 of the preseason and Week 7 of the regular season — the ninth time the club’s played two games in a visitor’s stadium in the same season.
