Report: Former Broncos head coach John Fox heads to ESPN TV booth

Mar 22, 2018, 12:00 AM | Updated: 8:28 am

The career path of former Denver Broncos head coach John Fox appears to be heading from the sidelines to the television studio.

The Athletic reports that Fox, who coached in Denver from 2011 to 2014, has been hired as an NFL analyst by ESPN.

A 16-year head coaching veteran, Fox was fired by the Chicago Bears on New Year’s Day after three seasons in the Windy City.

During his time with the Bears, Fox never had a winning season, eclipsing more than five wins just once, posting a 14-34 record.

Undoubtedly his more successful stint with an organization came during his four-year tenure with the Broncos.

Denver won the AFC West each year Fox roamed the sidelines, combining for a record of 46-18 and earning an AFC Championship in 2013.

However, Fox and the Broncos “mutually parted ways” after a one-and-done playoff appearance in 2014, just a season removed from a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Previous to his time in Denver, Fox coached for nearly a decade with the Carolina Panthers.
