Pritchard: Broncos offense bleeding with no bandage in sight

1. Broncos offense a wound Denver can’t plug
The Denver Broncos have not figured out to plug the open wound that is its offense to stop the bleeding.
Poor quarterback play, dropped passes, and a few breakdowns by the offensive line with regards to protection led to another below-average performance.
The trend (downward) continues.
2. Ground game not necessarily the answer
Denver is finding out the hard way that the running game is not the key to victory.
The Broncos defense stuffed one of the leading rushers in the NFL — holding Kareem Hunt to just 46 yards rushing — while at the same time its offense ran the ball for 177 yards on 31 carries.
But Denver still did not win the game.
In today’s NFL, you have to possess the ability to throw the football successfully.
3. Siemian shouldering too much expectation
There’s too much expected from Trevor Siemian.
From a talent standpoint, the Broncos have a playoff-caliber roster. From an execution standpoint, they do not have a playoff quarterback.
It’s no fault of Siemian’s. Denver’s in a desperate situation expecting the young quarterback to become a player he’s just incapable of becoming.
The Broncos need to consider a different quarterback in order to have a chance at winning games this year.
