Broncos DB Parks addresses Snapchat snafu, domestic violence charge

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said, due to the intention behind the act, safety Will Parks faced no discipline from the team after posting a clip of practice film to Snapchat.
Both Joseph and Parks addressed the media Monday after the team’s practice at UCHealth Training Center, with both saying the second-year player had learned his lesson.
“Did I punish him? No,” Joseph said. “I addressed the entire team because, again, his intent. I’m with this kid every day, so I knew his intent. So, a punishment wasn’t warranted.”
Joseph said the talk was more of “an educational conversation rather than a punishment,” and it focused on how even something innocent posted carelessly to social media can have negative effects.
“It was a mistake, but at the same time, there weren’t any intentions toward anybody,” Parks said. “At the end of the day, I just wanted to show how hard my teammates and I are working.”
The video showed two plays that featured off-the-mark passes from fellow second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch. However, Parks insisted that he wasn’t trying to single out Lynch with the post.
“Me and Paxton, we came in together. We didn’t even look at it how everybody else looked at it,” Parks said. “We looked at it as, ‘Hey, man, it’s another day on Snapchat.’ It wasn’t anything like that.”
Any future punishment directed at Parks stemming from a March incident that led to his arrest and misdemeanor charges of harassment and non-violent domestic abuse will come from the NFL, Joseph said.
First reported by KUSA-TV, Parks was arrested in late March by Brighton police after an altercation with an ex-girlfriend.
Joseph said the club became aware of the incident in late March and “followed protocol.”
“We called the NFL and gave them the information that they needed. It’s simply that,” Joseph said. “It’s in the courts’ hands. It’s in the league’s hands.”
Parks echoed a similar sentiment Monday, saying “the facts will come out” and that he’s not worried about any repercussions at the moment.
“I’m focused right now. I’m not worried about anything,” Parks said. “… I’ve got to worry about my team and what’s going on with myself. So, as long as I do that, everything should be fine.”
