The saga that once had Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo seemingly on the free agent market with the Denver Broncos a favored destination has now ended with the 13-year veteran hanging up his cleats, at least for now, and heading the broadcast booth.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and NFL writer Todd Archer reported early Tuesday morning that Romo has decided leave football in favor of a career behind the microphone.
Tony Romo is leaving football and going into broadcasting, even with Dallas planning to release him today, sources tell @toddarcher and me.

Schefter reported late last month that Romo had received interest from CBS, joining Fox among the networks vying for his services. NBC has also joined that race, and a decision on where he lands could come as early as next week, according to ESPN.
