It might only be a few droplets, but April brings a sprinkle of news surrounding Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and his future employer.
NFL.com and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has given all 31 league general managers the green light to contact Romo schedule in a workout, visit or physical.

However, teams will be limited in what they talk to Romo regarding his current contract, which is set to expire in 2019, Garafolo reports.
Things involving Romo’s departure from Dallas — via trade, free agency, or retirement — have remained relatively quiet in the days following the start of the NFL’s new league year in early March.
On March 8, a day before the start of free agency, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and ESPN NFL reporter Todd Archer reported sources told them the Cowboys would release the veteran quarterback the following day.

However, as the first day of the league’s new year rolled on, reports surfaced that Dallas would try to trade Romo instead to either the Broncos or Houston Texans.
Schefter also reported that both Fox and CBS were pursuing Romo should he opt to hang up his cleats for a microphone.
Last week, as Broncos general manager told the media at the NFL owner’s meetings in Phoenix that Denver’s plan was to “stay the course” with Siemian and Lynch, Fan Broncos Insider Cecil Lammey said Romo’s camp restless with the Jones and the Cowboys.
“From what I know right now, in the exclusive information I’ve gathered, is that relationship between Romo camp and Cowboys camp, specifically Jerry Jones, I’m not going to say it’s fractured beyond repair, but it is in such a state that they want to be done with each other,” Lammey said.
