The Colorado Avalanche were honored for winning the Stanley Cup by the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night at Coors Field. The Avs emerged from the left field tunnel with the Cup while “All The Small Things” by Blink 182 blared from the stadium’s loudspeaker.

Captain Gabriel Landeskog carried the cup for most of the journey, before handing it off to Nathan MacKinnon. Landeskog then took the mound for a ceremonial first pitch. It was high and outside, but he got it to the plate and Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland made an athletic catch to haul it in. You can watch part of the Avs walking in and Landeskog’s pitch below:

That’s awesome! Landeskog said today he was a little nervous about throwing the first pitch, but did just fine. Let’s see if some of the Avalanche’s magic can rub off on the Rockies, as they’re looking for a rare sweep of the Dodgers.
