Some days at work are simply more fun than others.

One of my assignments on Wednesday was to head to Raising Cane’s out in Aurora, where Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog posted on social media he’d be working the drive-thru for an hour.

As you can imagine, hundreds and hundreds of Avs fans showed up hoping to be served some chicken by the captain, take a photo or maybe even see the Stanley Cup.

The best trophy in sports didn’t make an appearance, but I was determined to get served by Landeskog! It didn’t quite work out, but I still had a memorable afternoon after sitting in “traffic” for a long time before ditching my car and heading inside.

Here are the highlights of “Landy” hanging out with the fine folks of Colorado fewer than three day after winning it all:

What a day and what a good sport Landeskog is. Sure, he got paid by the restaurant, but he also went out of his way to make a ton of Avalanche fans feel special.

And if this looked crazy, just imagine the parade on Thursday. It should be wild. See you there!
