Denver Broncos defensive lineman Zach Allen got paid on Saturday morning.
In a big way.
Allen inked a new deal with the Broncos worth up to $102 million, with $69.5 million guaranteed.
After practice on Saturday, Allen met with the media and you could tell he was honored and humbled to sign a contract that will keep him with Denver for the next several NFL seasons.

“First off, want to thank Greg and Carrie (Walton) Penner, George Paton, Coach Payton for obviously giving me this opportunity. And just this whole process, the way it was handled. To be able to go through all of this with the amount of trust and just belief in each other,” Allen said.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton joked that Zach Allen and the franchise were like two ships looking at each other on the horizon a couple of days ago. They eventually crossed paths, agreeing to a massive extension.
“Really, it is kind of a family atmosphere. I’m just really blessed to have people in my life and people that believe in me, made this all possible,” Allen said.
Allen, a second-team All-Pro, is coming off a career year for the Broncos in which he notched eight sacks and 40 quarterback hits. The latter not only led the NFL last year, but was the most for any interior defensive lineman since Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams in 2018.
He’s excited about the future in Denver and really sees the vision the franchise has as they try to capture a fourth Lombardi Trophy.
“I just love what we’re building here, I really can’t state that enough. It’s all about the culture here, I think that’s how you see Courtland (Sutton), myself, how everything is kind of being handled right now is cause of what we believe in this team,” Allen said.
We’ll see if that belief and production on the field eventually leads to another Super Bowl for the Broncos.
If it happens, you can bet Zach Allen will be a big part of it, wreaking havoc on opposing QBs every Sunday.
