Former Broncos edge rusher Von Miller turned himself in to Dallas authorities connection with an alleged domestic-violence incident.

Citing police sources, WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth reports that Miller’s girlfriend accused him of assaulting her Wednesday. The alleged incident took place at their Dallas home.

According to the affidavit — obtained by WFAA — police officers saw “minor abrasions” and neck bruises on Miller’s girlfriend. The neck bruises were “injuries consistent with applied pressure to the neck,” per the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, the incident began with an argument between Miller and his girlfriend.

Per the WFAA report:

The affidavit said the alleged victim went from the bedroom to the office of the home and slammed the door out of anger. Miller then became “visibly angry,” the affidavit said. He went into the office and yelled at his girlfriend to “get out” of the apartment, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit said the girlfriend “attempted to comply” with Miller’s request to leave the home, but wanted to gather some items before leaving. As she did this, the affidavit said, Miller “began to shove and push her, all while telling her to leave from the unit.”

The affidavit said Miller then began trying to film his girlfriend on his phone, “all while continuing to push and shove” her out of the home.

The alleged incident continued. According to the affidavit, Miller put pressure on his girlfriend’s neck, and eventually “pulled her by her hair, ultimately pulling a chunk of hair out and causing her to fall to the ground.” After further alleged physical contact, she called police, and Miller left the apartment.

Because Miller’s girlfriend is pregnant, the assault charge is a third-degree felony.

In Texas, conviction on a third-degree felony charge carries punishment of 2-to-10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. He turned himself in to Dallas authorities later Thursday.

Von Miller was in the Dallas-Fort Worth area while the 6-6 Bills have their bye week.

The Bills issued a statement Thursday morning that read as follows:

This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.

This is not the first time Miller has faced criminal allegations. In 2021, while he was still with the Broncos, he was investigated regarding an incident in Parker, Colo. However, no charges were filed.

On the field, this season has been a struggle for Von Miller, who spent most of the year recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered on Thanksgiving Day last season. In 8 games played, Miller has yet to notch a sack and has just a single quarterback hit.

But that is insignificant compared to the allegations against him now.
