Von Miller won’t face charges in Parker police investigation

No charges will be brought against Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller regarding a criminal investigation by the Parker Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial District announced Friday. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter first reported the news.
In a press release, the DA’s office cited the American Bar Association’s criminal justice standards regarding the minimum requirements for filing criminal charges, saying:
Based on our review of information that is currently available, we cannot meet that standard and must decline to file charges in this case.
Miller had been under investigation by Parker authorities since mid-January, though the nature of the allegations have never been publicly released.
In late February, the police department handed off the results of its investigation to the 18th Judicial District Attorney.
A DA spokesperson told 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis at the time that a “charging decision” had not been made and there was “no filed case.”
On Thursday, in a video conference with members of the media, Broncos general manager George Paton said the team was going to “let the legal process play out” but wanted to “bring Von back.”
“I don’t want to get into everything, but we want to bring him back,” Paton said. “Obviously, the legal process and what he’s going through, it’s a serious situation. I don’t know all of the details, but we respect what’s going on. We do want Von back.”
