Sean Payton says ‘there has to be improvement’ for Broncos to reach their goals

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is watching the same games we are.
And he knows right now that the Denver offense isn’t good enough to win a Super Bowl.
In a 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football, Broncos fans were frustrated. They even booed the team multiple times at Empower Field at Mile High, voicing their displeasure.
The offense is definitely going to have to be better on Sunday with the Kansas City Chiefs in town, winners of the AFC West nine times in a row.
Sean Payton is well aware that QB Bo Nix and the rest of the playmakers will need to perform better to take a stranglehold on the division.
“It’s our jobs to offensively to put ourselves in a position of starting faster,” Payton said. “There aren’t many times when a game’s over, when you win, even, where you’re fully satisfied. There’s something bugging you. And certainly, getting that balance and the time of possession also to help our defense.”
The Broncos possessed the football for 30 minutes and 46 seconds against the Raiders, but also punted seven times and went just 5-15 on third-down. For Sean Payton, it comes down to execution in tight games, but also knowing there’s room for improvement.
“I like that this we’re doing better in these one-score games. And I think you gain some confidence. And if you tried to pick, ‘when did that turn?’ you might look at Philly. But, to go where we want to go, there has to be improvement and certainly we understand that,” Payton said.
For an 8-2 team on a seven-game winning streak, that’s refreshing perspective from the head coach. At the same time, Broncos Country is running out of patience.
It’s up to Sean Payton and the offense to fix it, something that happening this weekend against the Chiefs would be a darn good place to start.

I disagree "that’s refreshing perspective from the head coach" because he's said this sort of thing so many times it's like we are back to having "great practices" under the Hack(job)ett regime... It's one thing to 'know and understand' the offense needs to play better, it's a whole different thing to put those words into action and show it on the field. I get it's hard to win games in the NFL, but no one can refute that the broncos, as much as I hate to say it are the worst 8-2 team in the league. As fans, who pay for merchandise and tickets, etc it is perfectly fine for us to not like the product (well 1/3 or so of the product) put out on the field. It's like insurance, we pay for the service but when you use it you get 'punished' for doing so.. at what point do we stop paying for an inept/useless product?
My only saving grace/thought/conspiracy theory (if you will) is that it's all a guise, the offense goes out and intentionally does just enough to not get blown out, considering our defense can hold up the best offenses in the league so we can continue winning tight games and pad some stats for '4th qtr comebacks' for Bo and Co. Then, come playoffs (or maybe this week since it's the 'Cheats') the offense will ball out and have a smooth ride to the SB.. but, considering what we have all been subjected to with this team, I very seriously doubt that is the case.
Preach on Sean but, keep up the sand bagging. It works, nobody knows what you’re going to do. You’ll need that surprise in the playoffs!
