Former Giants QB Eli Manning made headlines earlier this week when he took a shot at Russell Wilson on the ManningCast during Monday Night Football.

Eli and his brother, Peyton, had former Colts punter Pat McAfee on their ESPN2 broadcast. Of course, the subject of the Broncos punting 10 times against the 49ers came up. Eli took a big shot at Wilson during the telecast.

The clip quickly went viral, as Wilson has become a punching bag all over the NFL world. Even an old Subway TikTok ad has resurfaced, with Wilson getting roasted.

On Wednesday, Wilson was asked about the dig by Eli. He had a perfect response, citing his career record against the now retired Giants signal caller.

That’s just brilliant. An absolute mic drop moment from Wilson, that quickly went viral on its own. The “Chad Powers” bit derives from Eli going undercover at Penn State as a walk-on QB named Chad Powers. Wilson went on to elaborate a little more, saying all the right things about Eli and Peyton.

“It’s part of the game, man. Those guys are just having fun. I have a lot of respect for Peyton and Eli and those guys. I’ve always looked up to those guys. I’m not stressing about it,” Wilson said.

He knows the Manning brothers are here to entertain. And at some point, he was going to be in the crosshairs. Wilson handled it with class and a sense of humor, which was the perfect response.
