Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton and QB Bo Nix are good friends.
And he’s not going to let a rocky start to the 2026 regular season affect their relationship.
After the Broncos wrapped up practice on Tuesday, Sutton was asked about still being tight with Nix despite the team’s offensive struggles and the quarterback’s in particular.
“He gets a lot of flack for just being the starting quarterback. We all have certain things that come with our job description, and for him he has a lot of weight on his shoulders,” Courtland Sutton said.
Nix has been a hot topic in the media this week, both locally and nationally. Colin Cowherd even said the Broncos “can’t extend” Nix and give him a new contract next spring.
For Sutton, he and the entire Broncos roster still believe in Nix, something he wanted to vocalize.
“If you ask all the guys in that locker room, offensive guys, defensive guys, special teams, everyone has his back. We all know that for us to have success we need ’10’ to be able to have that success and we’re going to always have his back no matter what. Good, bad or indifferent,” Sutton said.
The Broncos are 3-2 thanks to three comeback victories, but no one on the offense is producing at the level they want.
In fact, Courtland Sutton only has 11 catches all season for 104 yards and a touchdown. That would’ve been a good game for him last year, not five total.
“Come to work every day, smile on my face, ready to work. You never know when the ball’s going to find you,” Sutton said.
Denver hopes that’s on Thursday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. A win, with the offense clicking, would make the fanbase feel a lot better.
But Broncos Country can also take solace in the fact that Nix hasn’t lost the locker room, with a nice endorsement from Courtland Sutton after a rough start to the year.
