Broncos elevate two practice-squad receivers for AFC Championship

The Broncos gave two of their veteran practice-squad receivers elevations — and with Troy Franklin questionable, the possibility exists that at least one could play Sunday.

Wide receivers Michael Bandy and Elijah Moore received elevations from the practice squad on Saturday. For Moore, it was his second-consecutive elevation from the practice squad; he received one last week, but was inactive for the Broncos’ divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills. The 2021 second-round pick has 70 games of regular-season experience and a playoff contest in January 2024 on his ledger prior to joining the Broncos’ practice squad last month.

Bandy has been the first wide receiver off the Broncos’ practice squad since Week 9, when the team elevated him after Marvin Mims Jr. suffered a concussion late in the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He played in four games, catching four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers, the first regular-season score of his career.

The University of San Diego product was briefly on the Broncos’ 53-player roster, but was subsequently waived after a five-day stint in early November. Bandy passed through waivers and returned to the practice squad, where he remained for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs.
