Broncos see continued progress with Dobbins, Bryant in practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Every Broncos player on the 53-man roster but quarterback Bo Nix practiced once again as the team continued its on-field work leading up to Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
That included wide receivers Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin, both of whom were listed as limited in their work Wednesday. Bryant was seen Thursday wearing a Guardian cap with a covering that simulated the Broncos’ helmet covering, an indication that he could wear the protective covering outside of his helmet should he be cleared to play Sunday.
Bryant suffered a concussion on the fourth play of last Saturday’s divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills. It was Bryant’s second concussion in a month; he was taken to a local hospital after suffering a concussion in the final moments of the Broncos’ Dec. 21 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Franklin and Bryant were listed as limited on Wednesday’s injury report.
Also practicing after being shown as limited Wednesday was center Alex Forsyth, who injured his ankle late in Saturday’s win. Fellow center Luke Wattenberg also practiced; he had full participation Wednesday, his first day back after being sidelined since landing on injured reserve on Christmas Day with a shoulder injury.
BRONCOS GET A SECOND-STRAIGHT DAY OF WORK FROM J.K. DOBBINS
Running back J.K. Dobbins continued his on-field work Thursday, one day after returning to practice. He was listed as limited Wednesday, his first day of practice since suffering a Lisfranc injury on Nov. 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
“It’s great to see him moving around,” right tackle Mike McGlinchey said Wednesday.
“J.K. is a hell of a player, hell of a force for us. Hopefully — we’re all praying that he’s cleared to go, but we’re ready for whoever’s back there. Our running backs have done a great job all year.”
Nevertheless, they missed Dobbins.
The Broncos averaged 128.6 rushing yards per game and 4.76 yards per carry in the 10 regular-season games Dobbins played, good for ninth and eighth in the NFL in those categories in Weeks 1-10, respectively. From Weeks 11-18 without Dobbins, they averaged 104.6 rushing yards per game and 3.94 yards per rush, ranking 23rd and 24th in that span, respectively.
