ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Broncos inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw did not practice Wednesday as the team cranked up its preparations for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a full-pad practice at Broncos Park Powered By CommonSpirit.

Greenlaw was on the field last week and had worked steadily since returning to team-period repetitions on Aug. 19 after missing time and being eased back into work during the first two weeks of August after suffering a quadriceps injury while covering J.K. Dobbins in a one-on-one drill on July 31.

But he did not play in the preseason finale at New Orleans on Aug. 23, as Broncos coach Sean Payton elected to hold him out, deciding that the potential reward of getting him game-time repetitions wasn’t worth the risk of exacerbating the situation.

The free-agent pickup also missed OTAs and minicamp due to a quad injury incurred in April.

After practice, Greenlaw’s status was not a matter that Broncos coach Sean Payton wanted to discuss when the topic was broached at his press conference.

“At this point forward — and I appreciate the question — at this point forward, I’m not going to talk one thing about player injuries,” Payton said.

“We’ll report what we’re required to report, but you’ll never hear me talk about how I feel it’s going or any of that.”

BEYOND GREENLAW: BRONCOS GET MARVIN MIMS JR. FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT PRACTICE

The third-year wide receiver practiced once again after missing last Thursday’s work due to a groin issue. Mims left the Aug. 28 practice early due to the groin problem, but it was not considered to be serious at the time, which has been borne out by his quick return to the field.

Tight end Nate Adkins did not practice, as was the case Monday and last week.

The third-year veteran underwent a tightrope procedure after suffering an ankle sprain during the preseason. He is expected to return within the next two weeks, reflected by the fact that the Broncos elected to keep him on the 53-player roster, bypassing the option to place him on injured reserve with a designation to return at the Aug. 26 roster deadline.

Practice-squad cornerback Reese Taylor also did not practice; he sat out Monday’s work, as well.
