ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — For Bo Nix in his recovery from January’s ankle injury, it’s so far, so good.

The Broncos’ starting quarterback recently underwent a recheck on his ankle, coach Sean Payton confirmed after the NFL Draft concluded Saturday afternoon, and there was “nothing to report” from that follow-up examination.

“He’s doing great,” Payton said. “We’re excited about his progress.”

The Broncos have targeted the start of OTAs for Nix’s return from the injury, which he suffered in overtime of the team’s divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 17.

Bo Nix is around working on rehabilitation from the injury, Payton said, adding, “A number of these guys are coming in the building.”

The team will reconvene for club-organized offseason workouts on Monday, May 4, but its first OTA practices will not take place until just over four weeks later, on June 2.

“Guys will be working on Monday [May 4] and then probably more of a team meeting next week,” Payton said.

“… Probably in the prior two years, we would have been out on the field and you guys would have been out there with us in May. It’s kicked back a little, so that will take place in June.”

But when that time comes, every indication is that Bo Nix will be out there, leading his team into three weeks of work to lay the groundwork for the 2026 season.
