Former CU Buffs star Jordan Seaton says ‘it just means more’ at LSU

Former CU Buffs star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is now at LSU.

And like many players who used to suit up for Coach Prime, Seaton was asked about his decision to leave Boulder and find a new college football team for this upcoming season.

Seaton didn’t throw anyone under the bus at CU, Deion Sanders or otherwise, but some of his answers on Thursday were a bit eye-opening.

Here’s a sample:

The quote that might really bother Colorado fans is that “it just means more” at LSU. Sure, he’s listening to what Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin has to say and it’s the SEC, but that’s still a dagger for Buffs supporters.

You can tell Jordan Seaton feels like his new teammates are locked in on strictly football. That’s what they’re in Baton Rouge to do — play ball and ultimately win games.

Seaton surprisingly entered the transfer portal in January and eventually landed at LSU after strong pushes from both Oregon and Miami.

Obviously, the Kiffin drama with the Tigers and his former school Ole Miss was the talk of the college football world a few months back. He did his best to land Seaton and did, luring the Five-Star Plus+ recruit away from Boulder.

The departure was a significant blow for Coach Prime as the program tries to build around rising sophomore quarterback Julian Lewis. Seaton won’t be there to protect him in 2026, instead hunting a national title with LSU.

The left tackle started all 13 games as a true freshman and earned Freshman All-American honors. He was the highest-graded true freshman offensive tackle in pass protection among players with at least 100 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus, and didn’t allow a sack in 11 of his first 13 career games.

Prior to his second season in Boulder, Jordan Seaton earned multiple preseason All-American and All-Big 12 nominations. As a sophomore, he was one of the country’s premier pass protectors, posting a 91.4 PFF pass-blocking grade through the first month of 2025 — the highest mark in the nation at that point. He had his struggles in the run game, but earned second-team All-Big 12 honors and was a midseason All-American according to multiple outlets.

For now, Sanders and the Buffs must move forward without Seaton. CU went 3-9 last season and the pressure is on Coach Prime to get back to the winning ways, like the 2024 season when Colorado went 9-4.

Hopefully, the current players ultimately show Jordan Seaton it doesn’t “mean more” at LSU and he made a mistake moving on.
