Despite recently saying he was still going through something related to his health, Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders was in Tampa Bay on Wednesday to see Shilo Sanders in action

Good news, Buffs fans. Coach Prime is out and about doing his thing and looking healthy enough to be out of his estate in Texas just days before the Colorado Buffaloes are scheduled to begin preseason practices on Monday. The health issues have been a concern for the 57-year-old all summer long, especially given that he just recently said he was still going through some troubles, but his presence in Florida is a good sign.

Shilo Sanders, one of Prime’s five children, signed a three-year, $2.965 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in May after he had a successful outing in offseason minicamp. The 25-year-old safety went undrafted back in April, but after he was given an opportunity to show his worth to the Bucs’ organization, they rewarded him with a contract.

However, he’s still got to put in the work to make the 53-man roster by the end of training camp. He is one of seven safeties currently listed on Tampa’s depth chart, but has what it takes to sneak into the secondary as a depth piece behind Antoine Winfield Jr. and Christian Izien. The Bucs started training camp on Tuesday, just like the Denver Broncos.

For Prime, it should be a good sign that he’s out and about with a smile on his face talking to someone who has won a Super Bowl as a player, an executive and an assistant coach in Todd Bowles. While he’s done a solid job in his first two years at Colorado, there are still some things that he can improve on as a coach as he tries to lead his team to a Big 12 Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff, and getting pointers from a guy who has been in the coaching business since 1997 isn’t a bad thing to do.

Does this mean Coach Prime will make an appearance in Cleveland this week as well to see his other son, Shedeur, in action as he competes for a roster spot in the Browns’ quarterback room?

The Buffs are scheduled to have their players report to Boulder on Sunday, July 27, with practice set to kick off the following day. They will have a month to get ready for Georgia Tech, a formidable opponent who will come to town on Aug. 29 to kick off the season under the lights.
