Ever since Coach Prime stepped foot in Boulder back in 2022, he has been setting records, hitting milestones and putting on a show wherever he’s gone. From Heisman Trophy winners to putting Boulder in the national spotlight with College Gameday and Big Noon Kickoff coming to town, he has brought the Colorado Buffaloes out of the graveyard and made them a relevant team once again.

With the heightened attention on the program over the last two and a half years, Folsom Field has been packed to the brim with fans from all over the country clamoring to come see Prime’s Buffs in action, a great sign for fans who have been around since the Bill McCartney days in the 1980s. Especially during the 1-11 year in 2022, Folsom looked like a ghost town as no one wanted to come spend their hard-earned money on the Buffs.

Colorado’s matchup against the Wyoming Cowboys, set for Sept. 20, sold out on Wednesday, the first game on the 2025 schedule to sell out. This is also family weekend for the university, hence why it sold out before the other games despite not being as much of a marquee matchup as others. It is the 10th game that has sold out in two years, a new school record.

This year’s first sellout comes a month before the first sellout was announced for 2024, showing that there is still plenty of demand to see Prime’s Buffaloes despite not having Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in town anymore.

The university also said in its release that the season opener against Georgia Tech and the midseason clash against Iowa State are also in high demand and will likely be sellouts. The Yellow Jackets are making their first ever appearance in Boulder to kick off the season on Aug. 29 while the Cyclones are arguably the best opponent on CU’s schedule and have the potential to be the best team in the Big 12 after losing in the conference title game last season.

Coach Prime has recently been dealing with some medical issues that have kept him out of Boulder and away from the team’s annual camps that are hosted in Boulder every June, but there’s no indication that the undisclosed problem is something that should keep him away from the program once practice gets underway towards the end of the summer. For now, he continues to set new milestones as he continues to build the Prime legacy in Boulder.
