Nikola Jokic went full joker in a television commercial for Sprite, released on Monday.
Working as a global basketball ambassador for the brand with rival Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jokic’s campaign centers around him as a stand-up comic. He takes to the mic and ribs the crowd for not being good enough at basketball, rhetorically asks them if they’re from Serbia and more.

It’s all part of a much bigger marketing push of Jokic over the last few years. The push really started after the Nuggets won the title and he got his own Nike commercial. Afterward, he quickly moved to 361 degrees for his own signature shoe, which came with a global campaign. Most people became more aware of Jokic’s shine in the spotlight when he collaborated with the Minions, dressing as the villain Gru before a playoff game and starred in a commercial with the cartoons.
Jokic has since put his name alongside Peppa Pig and Spongebob via his shoes, had his own Serbian energy drink that was exported to Colorado for a while, there was also a TV commercial with Peyton Watson for Hotels.com and then there was the biggest one. Last year Jokic finally did a crossover with Taco Bell. He was famously drafted during a commercial for the Quesarito. Jokic has joked about that but said he would never try the dish. As the fast food chain brought back the item last year, they outfitted the entire Ball Arena crowd with shirts encouraging the three-time MVP to try the Quesarito. Jokic eventually did as part of a nation-wide advertisement.
Here’s his commercial for Sprite welcoming him to the brand, it’s a hoot:
