NBA insider says Nikola Jokic ‘very pleased’ with Nuggets offseason

The Denver Nuggets had a big offseason as the team tries to get better around superstar Nikola Jokic.

They traded Michael Porter Jr. for Cam Johnson, brought Bruce Brown home, added Tim Hardaway Jr. and dumped the bad contract of Dario Saric for Jonas Valanciunas.

And while the Valanciunas situation still looks murky, he might want to play in Greece, overall the Nuggets new front office did a great job on paper.

Of course, the opinion of Nikola Jokic on that front is by far the most important. He’s officially allowed to sign a monster extension with the Nuggets, but that’s still up in the air for now.

With Jokic in Serbia for the summer, it’s hard to know what he’s thinking, but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst shared some good news on The Hoops Collective podcast that was recently released.

“I was told, and Mr. Jokic has not spoken on the record, at least in English about this that I’ve seen. But I was told through second-hand that Jokic was very pleased with the Nuggets moves,” Windhorst said.

His comment comes at the 30-minute mark in the YouTube video below.

Nikola Jokic wasn’t exactly thrilled after Denver lost Game 7 in the Western Conference semifinals to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He said he didn’t think the Nuggets were good enough to win a championship because they weren’t deep enough.

Clearly, Josh Kroenke, Ben Tenzer and Jonathan Wallace heard the best player in the NBA loud and clear. Denver is way deeper now than it was 10 days ago.

And according to Windhorst, that has made Nikola Jokic happy. That’s important, as obviously Nuggets fans want to see him play his entire career in the Mile High City.
