The Denver Nuggets have put together a string of solid moves this offseason in an attempt to rebuild the roster around Nikola Jokic. The three-time MVP said after the Nuggets were eliminated from the playoffs that the team didn’t have enough on the roster to compete with the league’s top dogs, and the newly-constructed front office has stepped up to the challenge and made a handful of moves that have the Nuggets back as one of the top contenders in the West.

With Cam Johnson, Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jonas Valanciunas (maybe, depending on whether or not he goes to Greece in the fall) now on the roster, Jokic should have all the necessary tools to try and get the Nuggets back to the mountaintop? At the moment, he’s not worried about the new additions for the Nuggets, as he’s got more important matters at hand.

Jokic was spotted at his home away from home, the horse track, over the weekend as he cheered on one of his stallions competing in a race. While the Nuggets are winning the offseason on paper, their star player is also winning.

Jokic’s celebration was also one for the books, and arguably more emphatic than any celebration he had during the Nuggets run to the 2023 title or for any of the three times he won the MVP award. That just shows everyone how much he truly cares about his horses back home, and that he likely won’t need to continue his NBA career in a coaching or front office role once he hangs the sneakers up.

While other NBA stars are doing some rigorous offseason workout regime, Jokic is just doing his thing before he shows up for the season and dominates them all. This past season was the best of his career from a statistical standpoint, as he became just the third player in NBA history to average a triple double over the course of an entire season.

Moments like these are why Nuggets Nation loves their star player so much. He’s got about two more months to enjoy his summer over in Europe before it’s time to head back to work in Denver with his new teammates to chase a fourth MVP award and a second championship.
