The Major League Baseball season that might not happen has as schedule, and now we know where and when the Colorado Rockies will play if a collective bargaining agreement is reached in time for Opening Day.

MLB dropped the 2027 slate for all 30 clubs Thursday amid a labor standoff that threatens to wipe the season off the map entirely. The current CBA expires Dec. 1, and the chasm between owners and the players’ union is historically wide — centered on a salary cap the league desperately wants and the union has sworn it will never accept.

“I believe that system is bad for players and would be for generations to come,” MLBPA chief Bruce Meyer said this week. “If they do a lockout, that will be a choice.”

So write this one down in pencil. Colorado is slated to open the 2027 season on the road at San Francisco on Thursday, March 25 — the earliest traditional Opening Day in MLB history. The home opener is a bit different than normal, it’s at Coors Field on a Thursday. It’ll be April 1 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Among the dates to circle at 20th and Blake: the Chicago Cubs visit June 18-20, the New York Yankees are in town July 26-28, and the Dodgers return Sept. 21-23. The 97th All-Star Game heads to Wrigley Field on July 13 — making it the only active ballpark to host the Midsummer Classic four times — and the Home Run Derby will stream on Netflix the night before.

The regular season wraps Sept. 26.

The Rockies will be looking to continue their climb from a brutal 2025 to a slightly better 2026 thus far.
