Packers expected to have RB who has gashed Broncos over the years

The Broncos likely won’t get to avoid facing running back Josh Jacobs on Sunday.

Green Bay’s leading rusher — who was listed as questionable on Friday and did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday — is expected to play in Sunday afternoon’s showdown between division leaders at Empower Field at Mile High.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was first to report the news.

The Packers are also expected to have running back Emmanuel Wilson available; he landed on the injury report Saturday due to an illness.

Jacobs spent the first five seasons of his career with the Raiders prior to joining the Packers in 2024, and he had a habit of carving up the Broncos whenever he was in the lineup. In eight games against Denver, Jacobs scored nine touchdowns, posted four 100-yard rushing games and averaged
118.9 yards from scrimmage.

Most importantly, the Raiders never lost to the Broncos with Jacobs in the lineup. But that perfect 8-0 record contrasts with the Packers’ all-time 1-8 mark in Denver, including a 19-17 Denver win in Week 7 of the 2023 season.

BRONCOS HAVE A KEY ABSENCE AGAINST PACKERS

The Broncos will face the Packers without wide receiver Pat Bryant — who is their second-leading receiver since the start of November — and will await word Sunday on the status of right tackle Mike McGlinchey, who did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury.

With Bryant out, practice-squad wideout Michael Bandy will receive an elevation to the active roster, his third of the season.
