Denver Broncos inside linebacker Alex Singleton was a tackling machine against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

In fact, his 19 tackles were the most by an NFL player in a non-overtime game since 2023.

The Broncos beat the Cardinals 30-16 and Singleton was recognized for his efforts on Wednesday by being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga won this same award for his monster outing against the Rams in Week 3, showing the Denver defense continues to make plays and stack up accolades.

Alex Singleton is the first Denver inside linebacker to win AFC Defensive Player of the Week since Cody Barton in Week 7 of the 2024 season.

To go along with his 19 tackles, Singleton registered a sack of Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett and it was his league-high-tying fourth double-digit tackle game of the season.

Singleton’s 19 tackles were the most by any player this year and it’s just the 17th time since 2020 a player notched at least 15 tackles and a sack in a game. He is also leading the NFL with 87 tackles.

It’s Singleton’s first time winning AFC Defensive Player of the week and a nice tip of the cap for his play on the field after defeating testicular cancer during the 2025 season.

Alex Singleton and the Broncos will look to keep it rolling with first place in the AFC West on the line against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.
