The city of Denver could be getting a fancy new football stadium soon.
And it would be capable of hosting a variety of events.
While the Broncos continue to work through negotiations to hopefully break ground at their preferred site of Burnham Yard for new digs, other plans appear to already be in motion.
In fact, the NCAA Men’s Final Four could be coming to Denver in the middle of the next decade.
The NCAA has selected the following seven cities as finalists to host the Men's Final Four from 2032-36, per release.
Denver
Houston
Indianapolis
Kansas City
Las Vegas
Nashville
New Orleans— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) October 27, 2026
That list above includes seven finalist cities for five years to host the event, with 2032, 2033, 2034, 2035 and 2036 all up for grabs. Denver is competing with the likes of Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nashville and New Orleans to be selected.
Obviously, Broncos Country likes outdoor football, but the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group has already announced they want “to build a world-class retractable roof stadium anchoring a dynamic mixed-use community in the heart of Denver.”
If it snows or rains on a Broncos gameday, the roof can hopefully stay open. But when it comes to hosting a neutral-site Super Bowl, Final Four, winter concerts, etc. — it can be closed.
The fact Denver is already on the NCAA’s radar for this five year window from 2032-2036 is a good sign.
“We’ve been working on this for years and are so thrilled for a chance to host the NCAA Final Four in Denver,” mayor Mike Johnston said in a press release. “This is why a new Broncos stadium with a retractable roof and more than 50,000 seats will expand our eligibility for events like this and provide new and exciting opportunities for Denver.”
Now, the Broncos just have to find a way to get shovels in the ground for the stadium sooner rather than later — with some obstacles still in the way.
