Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton will be a guest on the “ManningCast” during Monday Night Football, according to a report out of New Orleans.

It’s the 20th anniversary of the famous Saints and Falcons game in 2006, the first time football was played in the Superdome after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Steve Gleason, who blocked a punt that night and made the crowd go nuts, will also be a guest. Gleason has been bravely battling ALS since 2011.

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning host the alternate broadcast on ESPN2 and had John Elway on during the Broncos Week 1 game with the Chiefs. Now, Sean Payton will be a guest along with Gleason and then Cooper Manning later in the evening.

Payton and the Broncos have a big showdown against the 49ers on Sunday in Santa Clara, but he’ll take some time on Monday to talk football with the Manning brothers and acknowledge the historic 20-year anniversary.

The Saints won that game with Payton as the head coach, 23-3, and it signified football was back in New Orleans. They’d go on to win the Super Bowl a few seasons later.

Good on ESPN and the NFL for selecting this game for Monday Night Football. And good on the Mannings and Sean Payton for getting together on the broadcast to celebrate the occasion.
