ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Broncos edge rusher Dondrea Tillman was listed as a non-participant in the second consecutive practice this week as the team continued its preparations for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Tillman is the only player on the Broncos’ 53-man roster to have not practiced this week. Everyone else was a participant, including defensive lineman D.J. Jones, who was limited Thursday as part of a veteran rest day.
Fellow defensive lineman Zach Allen also saw limited work to get a rest day Wednesday; he returned to a full workload Thursday.
Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. also saw a full practice workload for a second-straight day. He missed the last two games due to a foot issue.
The Broncos have just four edge rushers on the 53-player roster, as Jonathon Cooper remains on the Commissioner’s exempt list while he awaits trial on five charges tied to an alleged domestic-violence incident. Cooper entered a not-guilty plea on August 31; his trial is set to begin Nov. 10.
So, if Tillman can’t play, they’ll have to adapt. They have three edge rushers on the practice squad: Johnny Walker Jr., David Agoha and Jahfari Harvey, who joined the practice squad this week and played in two games for the Las Vegas Raiders late last season.
BRONCOS LOOK LIKELY TO SEE WILLIAMS, McCAFFREY
In Santa Clara, Calif., running back Christian McCaffrey and offensive tackle Trent Williams returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s work. The 49ers reported that both players received rest days Wednesday.
But inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw, wide receiver Mike Evans and edge rusher Nick Bosa all missed a second-straight day of practice.
