Broncos list two players as not practicing on estimated injury report

The Broncos listed Marvin Mims Jr. and RJ Harvey as DNPs on the league-mandated report issued Wednesday -- even though the team didn't actually practice on that day.

The Broncos did not practice Wednesday, opting to use the day as the mandated players off-day for the week. But if they had, two of their quickest players wouldn’t have participated.

Running back RJ Harvey and wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. were listed as not practicing on the day’s injury report, which was issued per NFL regulations. Teams must issue practice-participation reports three times leading up to a regular-season game, and must provide estimations if they don’t hold a session, as was the case this time.

Harvey was listed with a hamstring issue, while Mims landed on the injury report due to a foot problem.

Mims suffered a foot bruise in the Broncos’ Aug. 28 preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings, but participated in last week’s practices and started in Monday night’s shellacking at Kansas City.

He left the game early due to what was announced as a hip issue, but returned to action.

“I feel fine. I’ll be good, should be all right,” Mims said after the game. “Just some old stuff coming back up, but I should be fine for the next week.”

Broncos edge rusher Jonah Elliss and wide receiver Troy Franklin also landed on the injury report with shoulder and knee injuries, respectively, but their estimated practice participation was full.

In Jacksonville, all members of the 53-player roster took part in Wednesday’s session, but five did so on a limited basis: running back LeQuint Allen Jr. (hip), wide receivers Jakobi Meyers (thumb) and Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder), linebacker Foyesade Oluokun (wrist) and offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen (knee).
