Sean Payton says he and Bo Nix will ‘ditch the plays that neither of us love’
"I want to know the plays that he loves, I wanna kinda relay the plays that I love," Sean Payton said of his strategy with Broncos QB Bo Nix

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is 4-0 as an offensive play-caller this season.
He stripped that duty from OC Davis Webb after only four games, a sluggish 2-2 start.
And while the offense hasn’t looked perfect with Payton in QB Bo Nix’s ear, it’s definitely gotten better.
After the Broncos wrapped up practice on Friday, Payton was asked about recent comments from Tom Brady about the trust between a play-caller and quarterback being so huge.
How has he developed that trust with Nix?
“It’s a great question. We were just talking on the field about, you know, getting on this flight. I want to know the plays that he loves, I wanna kinda relay the plays that I love and let’s ditch the plays that neither of us love,” Sean Payton said.
Denver will fly to Carolina this afternoon ahead of Sunday’s contest with the Panthers. It has to be music to the ears of Broncos fans that Payton and Nix will get together on the plane and dump plays neither enjoys running.
“I think it’s something you develop, you work on, and yeah I think it’s important. (Nix) asks questions a lot about, oh, when I was with Drew (Brees) and you get to a point, it happened last week, where there’s several times where I make a call and he kind of knows that,” Sean Payton said.
Nix predicting the play-call before Payton even sends it in is a big development. It shows they’re clicking and there’s chemistry between the two.
“When that begins to happen, I think it really helps him on the field, knowing kind of what to expect when it comes in. And it takes a while, but I agree with what Tom said,” Payton concluded.
The Broncos have a legitimate shot to win the Super Bowl this season, but those odds will only increase if the offense improves.
And that starts with good communication between Sean Payton and Bo Nix — something it sounds like is coming around.
