Bo Nix happy with ‘solid’ first TD drive, says return ‘was like riding a bike’
"As good as I've felt in a long time," Broncos QB Bo Nix said after leading two scoring drives in his return to NFL action on Friday night

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix was back on the field Friday night.
And he picked up right where he left off.
Nix returned after two offseason ankle surgeries (and missing the AFC Title Game with a broken ankle) for Denver’s second preseason game.
While the Broncos were throttled by the Packers 33-13, Nix did his part. He finished 6-9 for 76 yards and a touchdown. Nix led the Denver offense to points in both his series, a TD pass to RJ Harvey and a Wil Lutz field goal.
For Bo Nix, getting back out there was like an old habit.
“I think the strongest emotion… it was like riding a bike. It doesn’t really change,” Nix said.
It was a challenging offseason for Nix after the devastating injury against the Bills in the divisional round. He had one immediate surgery after the ankle fracture and another months later. He credits the second one as being key.
“Honestly, I felt better I think over time. I think the extra cleanup surgery was good for me. Just because it put me back to square one, back to base one. And I thought I felt pretty good. As good as I’ve felt in a long time,” Bo Nix said.
That’s music to the ears of Broncos Country that QB1 feels like a million bucks. Denver will need him healthy for the majority of regular season games and all of the playoffs if they want to contend for (and win) a Super Bowl.
As for Nix’s first drive, he hooked up with Jaylen Waddle for a 35-yard completion then Harvey for a 21-yard TD toss. He was pleased overall.
“It felt great. Just like any typical year, going out for the first drive. You know there’s going to be some different things that you can grow from, but I felt like for the first drive of the season it was solid,” Nix said.
Scoring six points (seven with the PAT) is solid on any drive.
And while the result for the Broncos was ugly, the most important takeaway is Bo Nix looks like he’s completely back.
