Jaylen Waddle makes highlight-reel play at Broncos training camp

Broncos training camp is officially here. And the third day delivered exactly what Broncos Country has been waiting for: A glimpse of the Bo Nix-to-Jaylen Waddle connection.

The Broncos posted a video from day three of training camp showing Nix launching a deep ball downfield to Waddle, who snagged it one-handed with his backhand without even leaving his feet. It was the kind of effortless, jaw-dropping play that immediately reminded everyone why Denver went out and acquired the dynamic wide receiver this offseason.

It’s the first of what Broncos fans hope will be many highlight-reel connections between the two. Nix, who led Denver to the AFC Championship Game last season before a broken ankle ended his postseason, finally has the kind of explosive downfield weapon that the offense has lacked. Waddle’s elite speed, a trait that was often underutilized in Miami, now pairs with a quarterback who has the arm strength to let it loose.

For a fan base that has spent all offseason dreaming about what this pairing could look like, day three delivered. One catch, one video, and Broncos Country is already buzzing. September can’t come soon enough.
