Jamal Murray told Denver Sports he wanted to get his vacation days back when asked about All-Star weekend. Well, his first time as an All-Star just got a whole lot busier with one more day of competition.

The NBA announced Sunday that the Nuggets guard will compete in the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest on Feb. 14 at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, marking the first time in his 10-year career that Murray will take part in the marquee shooting event.

Murray was a logical choice for the event. He was already named to his first All-Star Game a day after this event and is shooting a scorching 43.2% from beyond the arc — second among all participants behind only Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis Jr. (45.1%) and is 12th in the entire league.

The Blue Arrow has always been a clutch shooting monster, and this time he’ll get about a minute and five racks to claim the title of the league’s top shooter this year.

Voshon Lenard was the last Nuggets player to win the event, back in 2004.

Murray will face a stacked field. Two-time champion Damian Lillard headlines the competition in what will be his first on-court appearance since tearing his Achilles tendon during last season’s playoffs. The Portland guard can match the record with a third title. Former champion Devin Booker returns after winning in 2018, while Charlotte rookie Kon Knueppel could become the first first-year player to ever claim the crown.

Rounding out the eight-man field are Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell, Norman Powell and Bobby Portis Jr. — five of whom are 2026 All-Stars. The former Clipper fan-favorite Powell will likely have the crowd rooting for him.

Murray currently has the second-best odds to win the contest at +400, with Knueppel being the favorite. Lillard and then Powell have the next best odds after the Blue Arrow.

The 3-Point Contest airs at 3 p.m. MT on NBC and Peacock as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
