The last two Denver Broncos QBs to win the AFC West are Peyton Manning and Bo Nix.

Manning did it in 2015, the final season of his brilliant career, in which the Broncos went on to win Super Bowl 50.

Nix accomplished the task this year, taking the throne back from the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was a long drought in Denver, but clearly the Broncos are in the best hands they’ve been at quarterback since Peyton Manning retired with Nix now the franchise guy.

The NFL legend recently joined Kevin Clark on This Is Football and heaped a lot of praise on Nix.

“Look, Bo Nix has been heavily scrutinized for a second-year quarterback that just led his team to their first division (title) since 2015,” Manning said.

He goes on to mention the No. 1 seed “doesn’t excite him” as much as winning the AFC West. In the quote in the tweet above Manning talks about how the Chiefs have been a “bully.” Kansas City had won the division nine times in a row entering this season.

“It’s been good complimentary football. The defense is really good. Bo knows that. He makes a lot of plays with his legs,” Manning said.

The Hall of Famer talked about how Nix has had days where he doesn’t throw for a ton of yards, but runs for critical third-downs. Manning also mentioned how that keeps the Broncos offense on the field and lets drives live on. Nix protects the football as well.

“I think he’s been a solid, winning quarterback this year, I’ll say that,” Manning closes.

Ultimately, Peyton Manning is definitely a fan of Nix, even if the latter manages the game at times. Still, Nix finished with 3,931 yards passing this year — good for eighth in the NFL. He also tossed 25 touchdowns which was tied for ninth.

And of course, Nix and the Denver defense led the Broncos to a spectacular 14-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Reading between the lines of that answer, Peyton Manning likes Bo Nix and the makeup of this Broncos team — a lot. Now, it’s up to them to go win three more games and bring another Lombardi Trophy to the Mile High City.
