Coach Prime had yet another NFL Hall of Famer make his way to Boulder on Wednesday to speak with the Buffs before their season opener

Boulder has been filled with royalty ever since Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders landed in town back in December 2022. Plenty of gold jacket bearers have made their way to the base of the foothills for a multitude of reasons, and a new face touched down on campus on Wednesday.
Randy Moss, who is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, swung by Boulder to talk to the Buffs in a team meeting just two days before the team’s season opener against Georgia Tech.
For all the Buffs fans who have been around for the long haul through the dark days and didn’t hop on the bandwagon when Prime was hired (it’s okay if you did that), who would’ve thought that they’d see NFL legend Randy Moss decked out in black and gold talking to the team? If someone said four years ago that Moss would do so, it would’ve been such a blasphemous statement that everyone else would’ve laughed at.
Three years into the Prime era, that’s the reality of this program and this university.

“There’s a reason I told coach I wanted to come and see this team,” Moss said. “There is a reason. All this professional football talent around here… this is a professional setting.”
That’s one heck of a recruiting pitch right there. For a guy who has been a part of some of the greatest teams in NFL history to call the Colorado Buffaloes a professional setting, that should instantly be a selling point to any high school prospect looking to find a home at the college level.
Moss is just one of many NFL legends to make his way to Boulder. Warren Sapp and Marshall Faulk are on the staff as coaches, Champ Bailey came by for CU’s Pro Day in the spring, and Shannon Sharpe, Michael Irvin and Terrell Owens have stopped by Folsom Field to see what’s happening.
That doesn’t count the other celebrities outside of the NFL that have come to town including Kevin Durant and Lil Wayne. Coach Prime has changed how the football world looks at Boulder, and has flipped this football program upside down. No one should be surprised anymore by big names like Moss wanting to see Prime and the Buffs in action, as that’s just the status quo at this point.
