CU Buffs land big-time QB commit on Pat McAfee Show

Four-star quarterback Andre Adams committed to the CU Buffs on Tuesday, announcing his decision live on The Pat McAfee Show in a ceremony at his high school auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Adams, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound dual-threat signal-caller from Antioch High School, chose the Buffaloes over finalists Virginia Tech, Florida State and Kentucky. He is the No. 173 overall prospect and No. 15 quarterback in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

“I felt like Colorado was the most genuine school I stepped foot in,” Adams said. “I was originally scheduled to commit on the 11th but I had a reason for pushing back. I took the visit to Colorado and knew from there that they were the one.”

The commitment marks Colorado’s biggest high school recruiting win since landing quarterback Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis two years ago. Adams could be Lewis’ eventual replacement and a great fit in offensive coordinator Brennan Marion’s Go-Go offense.

Colorado and coach Deion Sanders were the first Power Four program to extend Adams an offer. He visited Boulder on April 3 and returned the weekend before his decision, with the late push proving decisive in the Buffaloes’ favor.

A four-year starter entering his senior season, Adams has played 33 games and thrown for a school-record 7,541 yards and 71 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 2,316 yards and 35 touchdowns.

Adams becomes the second pledge in Colorado’s 2027 class, joining three-star defensive back Davon Dericho.
